Here are the best CompTIA Security+ exam prep study resources 👩🏻‍💻

As one of the most popular beginner cybersecurity certifications out there, here are a few study resources I recommend for those of you currently studying for the cert (most of these are free BTW!): 

1. 🎯 Professor Messer’s CompTIA Security+ Exam Prep Course 

One of the OGs in the cybersecurity/IT cert space, his courses and study resources are easy to follow and free to watch on his website and YouTube.

2. 💻 Josh Madakor’s Security+ Practice Exam Questions

Josh also creates cybersecurity learning resources and has created these Sec+ practice exam questions that you can use to test your knowledge in the difference exam domains.

3. 🌐 CompTIA Security+ SY0-701 Certification Guide (Textbook)

I used the CompTIA Sec+ All-in-One textbook to pass my exam and it was 100% the biggest difference maker. For the SY0-701 exam, here’s the best textbook you can use as study prep. 

4. 🤖 Inside Cloud and Security FULL CompTIA Security+ Course

The best thing about the age of the internet is the abundance of free knowledge and content out there! 😄 Here’s another great Sec+ 701 course on YouTube.

5. 📚 Another bonus - I always recommend taking the Google Cybersecurity Certification before the Sec+ if you’re new to cybersecurity since this will teach you the foundations along with hands-on labs while prepping for your cert. They also provide a discounted Sec+ exam when you complete the course:  

As for whether or not I think it’s still worth it to study for your Security+ now with all the other new certs popping up these days, here are my thoughts.
